    Posted: 28 October 2013 at 9:16pm
Hey everyone, I'm a new member to the forum but have used it for a lot of research. So I want to put an expansion chamber on my 98 platinum and I am having an extremely tough time finding a verticle adapter.

My question is, is the vertical adapter only necessary if you want the expansion chamber as you're foregrip? I don't mind having it go inbetween the trigger and foregrip but I am also having a very tough time on finding out what components that requires. So other than the chamber and lengths of hose what else do you need to hook the chamber up inbetween the trigger and grip?

Also does anyone have an expansion chamber set-up up for sale?

Thanks

My google-fu wins!

That's the one you want to use with the platinum series unless you really feel like shelling out for a "classic" power tube and valve as well. It'll put the expansion chamber between the foregrip and the trigger guard.

Now, if you want to make the expansion chamber run through the foregrip like in the older models, you'd have to get a '98c vertical adapter, power tube, and valve as well as a longer piece of steel-braided hose for the set-up. Personally, I've never liked having an x-chamber as the grip, gets too cold to handle in those fierce firefights.

Skip the expansion chamber and just switch to HPA. You can find new 3k psi tanks for $40 these days. Unless you have limited access to HPA fills, its the way to go.

Yes.

Seems like they may be pretty hard to find these days.
You might want to go over to mcarterbrown.com and post a "wanted to buy" in the WTB forums. Someone over there is likely to have one that they'd part with. Or email the guys at tippmannparts.com and see if they have one sitting in their warehouse still.

As someone else said, HPA/N2 will actually prevent the need to use an expansion chamber if you make the switch. Only issue could be filling the tank. If you play at an organized pay-to-play field, it shouldn't be an issue, but if you're mainly playing in the woods with friends, CO2 is a lot easier to use.
