Do I have good taste, or what!?

Bill Kelliher (of Mastodon) signature Gibson Explorer, AKA the Golden Axe.

- Beautiful translucent gold-burst finish with cream binding
- Gold hardware
- Nitro Lace Hemi humbuckers with coil-splitting
- Relocated pickup selector toggle
- Fast and thin neck, somewhere between a stock Explorer and an Ibanez Wizard.

Basically, if I had my own signature model, it would be this exact same guitar. It pretty much is made to my specs. I'm gonna have to fire off a thank you letter to Bill...

I miss the old days. In the first hour, I would have had 20 posts telling me how tacky I was, or questioning my financial choices. I'm sad now. :(

THERE WE GO. Better. By the by, I have 2 banjos.

Yep. Pickups are passive. Great sound on 'em, too, with overdrive. Clean, they leave a little to be desired, but I knew that going in. You get some cool tones out of the coil tapping, too.

Trade it for an AK. Then trade it for a tattoo. Then trade the tattoo in for a glass rose.

It is very nice. I honestly know nothing about guitars besides that it looks cool. Sorry.

After I bought my new gun this week, I kind of realized I'm not really allowed to talk about anyone else's poor financial decisions pertaining to their hobbies.

Luckily, I also make terrible financial decisions.

Pics of my new guitar will be up shortly.

Your definition of "shortly" seems to be a bit skewed. :p

I learned the rhythm section of Savatage's "Damien." I don't think there's anything that feels more metal than chugging out some riffy 80's/90's power metal on an Explorer...
