The 'project' bike is just about finished. Took the stock Honda CRF250L 'dual sport' and turning it into a beast. Being fuel injected and lean due to emission standards, so stock set up was really a 'dog' power wise, put a electronic jet kit in it (EJK controller), along with a tuned FMF 'bomb' header and FMF Q4 muffler and tweaked it. Motor is now just a tad lower in HP than the full MX CRF250R and with my wide ratio transmission far easier to control on the local track. Never really have to leave 3rd after the start. MY 3rd is a MX'rs 4t, And the motor is not a 250R race motor, but a hybrid CBR250 street motor so the 4 valve set up gives me clean power, and the maintenance will be far less than the 10 hour rebuilds of a 'race' motor.

It's only true failing is the suspension, stock set up is pitiful, way under sprung. The front has the new one side spring, the other rebound set up, which is the new 'thing' in front 'racing' suspensions so is OK but a tad under sprung. The rear is way under-sprung only a 7 mm/kg where I need at least a 12 mm/kg. Shock is a internal gas and adequate.
I decided a full 'race' suspension will get me into 'trouble' in more ways than one, just going with spring set upgrade.

This bike is the compromise between momma and myself to let me keep riding. I can not do any full 'racing' on it but can do the 'endurance league' 2 hour on a combo MX/trails course. Momma stated first time she see me handle bar to handle bar with anyone it's over.

Will get pics attached today...............

Just to see how fast it is went to the local track, and did a few warm up laps and then a timed set of laps. 1.5mile track, the local MX's averaged 2:10, my best was 2:32. A local MX'r ( a lot younger and a lot lighter) took a few laps and got a 2:18.

Like stated suspension is the bikes greatest weakness. Got a race tech front spring kit inbound, and per race tech a rear spring set based on weight is in the works and to be released soon.

First endurance race is June 20, (if it don't get rained out again) and will have pics and vids and hopefully helmet cam.

Pretty sharp!  A buddy of mine has a YZ-250 and loves it.  He can ride it to work and take it up on his property up north and race around with his boys on their quads.
