Since I bought the 'Yota, I've had to put up with the crappiest headlights I've had for over 2 decades.  I looked at HID, a few trucks here run them, but I have to upgrade my wiring harness, buy housings, bulbs, ballasts and they are not DOT approved; we've had 2 of our company trucks ticketed for hids.  The closest thing I came to that was legal was H4's, but still need to upgrade my wiring harness, and move my battery to fit the housing.  Truck Lite came out with an LED light for 5x7 lights, DOT/SAE approved, direct replacement (3-blade plug), good construction and they draw a measly 1.8 amps on high beam; sealed beams are twice that.  They were over $300 apiece at the time, finally they came down to what I felt was affordable so I bought a pair, shipped to my door for $461.00.  These will fit any vehicle with 5x7's - toyotas, Xj,s older broncos etc.   So nice to be able to see properly at night, too.
