The rust recall was the '95 to 2000 tacoma's, mine is '93, parts truck is '89. I'm going to use the locking hubs, some heater control parts, rear window and part the rest out.
pic of my truck, it has the add hubs, after I rebuild the asin locking hubs I'll put them in my truck. ![]() |

Free parts truck? Good deal! When you say tons of rust... weren't these the Toyotas that had a total recall because the frames would quickly rot out and split in two? Plans for it?

I had an ad here locally to find a rear smitty bilt tube bumper. A fellow a few hours away contacted me saying he had one, so I went out in November, liked and said I'd take it. He asked if I wanted the whole truck, but I just didn't have room at my house so I said no. He offered it to me for the price of the bumper ($200) so I took it for a burn and it ran great, shifted great so I bought it. I had to wait until last weekend because it was snowed in but I brought it home; best $200 I've ever spent.
Hauling it home: it has brand new fiberglass front fenders, new rear springs, timing belts and cams, total chaos lift, but lots of cancer. ![]() parked at my son-in-laws place: ![]() |
