Haha, it is pretty crazy when you realize that people have divergent interests from your own!

I wore a Fender shirt to a bar one time and a girl asked me if Fender was a band. That's always been an ongoing joke with my friends that were there-"Wait, isn't Fender that band?"

My favorite:
Me (to a new bagger when I worked as a cashier): So what kinda music you listen to? Her: *lists some pop stuff* What about you? Me: *lists some classic rock stuff, including AC/DC* Her: "AC/DC?" Isn't that a clothing line? |

And then the whole theater stood up and clapped. e: But yes, her use of gay as a pejorative is pretty bad. Edited by BARREL BREAK - 11 November 2012 at 5:43pm |

I had a depressing conversation with some girls at work, all my age (mid 20's.) Rather than analyze it, I'll just throw it out there: Girl 1: I may get to meet Pauly D I'm so excited
Girl 2: OMG He's so amazing!
Me: Why the hell would you be excited to meet Pauly D?
Girl 1: Um, he's an amazingly talented DJ.
Me: I dunno, if I was going to pick a celebrity to meet it'd be David Gilmour, Bob Dylan, maybe even John Mayer or Josh Homme.
Girl 2: I have no idea who any of those people are except for John Mayer and he's gay.
Girl 1: I've heard of Bob Dylan.
Me: Pink Floyd? Queens of the Stone Age:?
Girl 2: Those are bands right?
Me: Guitarists and lead singers of bands, but yes. Girl 1: That's stupid. Why would you want to meet the musician it's the DJ that does all the work. That's like wanting to meet the guy who built your car.
