Am I right in assume that the Colorado Rockies are a joke of a team? I saw a few games when I was living there and had a great time, I just don't think I ever could have told you that had a team or not before then.

In baseball, there is a rule called the Infield Fly Rule, that protects the batting team. It prevents an infielder from purposely dropping the ball to force an easy double or triple ply. It's basically any hit where the fielder is able to easily camp under a ball with the potential to make a play on multiple base runners. In the ATL/STL game, a ball was hit somewhere between 30-75 feet outside of the infield. The real umpire, at third base, did not signal an infield fly, and initially, neither did the additional(in the playoffs) ump. The extra ump signaled it late, and incorrectly, costing Atlanta a one out, bases loaded situation down 3. ATL finished the game under protest, but it's already been deemed an unreviewable judgement call. It was a single elimination Wild Card playoff game playing for the, arguably, most valuable wild card slot in a very very long time. And Whale, sorry, I didn't catch the sarcasm. I'm a big braves fan so I was on razors edge. |

It's so much fun to ask someone to name more than three O's pitchers. I'm not sure I can do it without looking it up.
This team should, in no way, be good. It's sort of amazing that they are. I love Darren O'Day, though. That mechanic makes me happy. Also makes my shoulder hurt.
