   So, I get a call from my dad today at work and let it go to voicemail.  I plugged in my headphones to listen to it, and ripped my headphone out as soon as I heard, 'your mom had a heart attack.'
Let me first say, she's ok, and was cracking jokes when she finally got to a regular hospital room.   

Turns out, she indeed did have a heart attack while at work teaching.  911 was called, and she was taken to the local hospital where a heart attack was diagnosed on the 2 minute ambulance ride there.  She was then air lifted up to Milwaukee, about 25-30 miles away, to one of the best heart hospitals in the country.  

If no one has ever experienced the adrenaline/panic that comes with a phone call of that nature, I now envy you. 

it's 10 hours later, and even though she's doing fine and and will fully recover and be fine for my wedding next Friday, I'm wondering how much sleep I'll actually get tonight.

	Good to hear that she will recover fully.I've got the call before but the news wasn't as good (if that's the right word to use).

	57, and in otherwise great health. Cholesterol, hdl and ldl numbers were all fantastic, she was on blood pressure meds, exercises every day, eats well. She's the healthy one in the whole family. So this was completely unexpected.

	Wow man glad to hear she is ok. Heart attacks are scary thing, my grandma has had a few one of which i was driving her to the hospital while it was happening.

	I'm sorry to hear that. I had a similar experiance when my mom was in an accident with a semi a couple of years ago. I do not envy you, that's for sure. I am glad to hear your mom is okay and recovering.

	Sorry you had to go through that man. My mom's cancer scare forced me to face alot of mortality issues. Good luck with everything in the future.
