So Wednesday is the 4th of July.
What are your plans? Who is getting fireworks? Typically I am stuck with the "safe and sane" but this year I will be out of state on vacation. Any suggestions on what I should pick up? Happy 4th of July!

Playing it safe and sane myself. Probably just kick back and relax since there are still about 400,000 people out there in my area without power. They'll all be packing into the places that DO have power and I really don't want to be around that many people in addition to the normal tourist crush that occurs on the 4th here in DC.

Well, our annual family 4th of July party is off this year. My aunt and uncle are having trouble keeping up with it all anymore. So i'll probably go build some "sparkler bombs" with my friends and entertain ourselves with some adult beverages, and colorful explosions.

Usually the extended family gets together on the 4th. Some drama happened and now it's off. Going to my mom's by lake texoma. I won't buy fireworks but I'll watch everyone else light up the sky and hopefully be sipping a good amount of adult beverages.

I think I'll try to get too drunk and wear something with a flag on it. First 4th of July living in the States, I gotta celebrate.

Nothing special...Got the day off but fireworks aren't allowed in my apartment complex. But overall it's a day off in the middle of an already short week.

Bought a couple hundred dollars worth of fireworks with my brother this past weekend. Lit a few off Saturday night and I'm saving the rest for when I go to the Upper Peninsular on Wednesday.

No personal fireworks for me this year. I'll either be climbing the Zugspitze or doing a backyard BBQ/beer. Maybe both. We'll see.

I've still got fireworks from 6 years ago, never set em off anymore, don't know how to safely dispose of them, so they sit in a drawer. Just gonna grill at a friend's place, play some horseshoes, nothing big. |

I have two possible choices. Wed/Thu are my regular days off. I've signed up for OT on Wednesday. I get holiday pay whether I'm there or not. Holiday pay + OT is hard to turn down. The other choice is to drive 90 miles south in holiday traffic on heavily "under road work" conditions with wife and three kids to sit on my buddy's raft on a large lake where there will be a fireworks show. Then ride 90 miles back under previous road conditions.
