Chili Cheese Fries, Mac & Cheese, and Baked Sweet Potatoes. That's why.
Well, and their spokesmodel is hawt: ![]() Especially with the red hair... But I digress. The chili cheese fries are legitimately fantastic. If they'd do poutine, they'd have it in the bag. |

In and Out was terrible, buns were stale and fries cold and greasy. Mr Pib was flat, never considered gong back to one. If I had a choice between 5 Guys or Chipotle, I am going for Chipotle! One of the monsterous burritos last me the entire day. |

Five Guys>Wendys>White Castle>BK>McD's
I also suggest all of you try a local college greasetruck fat sandwich. Something you should try, but never eat often.

Whataburger > Fuddruckers > Red Robin > Carl's Jr > Wendy's > Burger King > McD's
I'm a burger fanatic but my attempt at healthiness prevents me from loving them the way I used to. I have to say that I have a soft spot for a triple meat triple cheese whataburger with mayo, jalapeņos, and bacon. Typically I'd rate BK above Wendy's, but that new spicy guacamole chicken sandwich Wendy's has is absolutely amazing. And I hated In N Out. The sheer amount of hype I got about that place for years was insane. My buddy from California went on about it, I dated a girl who said it was the best food she had ever eaten, blah blah blah. So when one opened in Frisco I drive an hour and a half on an empty stomach, ordered two double meat burgers with animal fries and was extremely disappointed. Granted, theres really no way it could live up to the hype because it is, after all, just meat / cheese / veggie / sauce / bun like everyone else, but I honestly found it subpar to Whataburger in every way. I need to try 5 guy's, there's one in fort worth. Edited by stratoaxe - 01 May 2012 at 11:07am |

:( Crap, now I want a cheeseburger, fries and a shake.
We don't have much beyond Wendy's, McD's, Taco Bell and Hardy's as far as fast food goes. After the tornado that went through Joplin, the only remaining Burger King we had was closed due to crap sales. The next closest one is 25 minutes away. I loved In N Out when I went to California a couple of years ago, but I'd never heard of it before. The only hype I had heard consisted of, "YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO IN N OUT!?! GET IN THE CAR!" and away we went.

I maintain that 5 Guys, Fuddruckers, Red Robin, etc., don't count as fast food.

Concurred. Same with Chipotle/Moe's. That level of counter service is not really "fast food" to me. I don't really know what the distinction actually is, I just know it exists. I do love me some Whataburger, for fast-food burgers. And their breakfast is absolutely fantastic. Of the big three, I rank BK > McDonalds > Wendy's. I don't care for Wendy's, I don't know why. |

Spokesmodel is meh.
I have yet to have a 5 Guys hamburger, but do love their french fries. McD's is pretty far down on my burger preference list. One of my favorites is a local place called Kewpees. Supposedly Jim Thomas worked at one when he was in college or something and based Wendys on it.

I had my first 5 Guys burger 2 weeks ago, nearly slid off the wrapping paper! Oh So Good! I probably clogged something in my internal plumbing. |

Within the industry there's "Fast" and "Fast Casual" Moes/Chipotle/Panera, and to some extent Five Guys, are prime examples of the "Fast Casual" genre. You still order at a register, but you are given a lot of options and generally have to wait for the food to come up because it's being made to order. It's that grey area between the big three, and Applebee's. |

I would rank Wendy's as number 1, but the service is so horrible that rarely eat there (Dairy Queen is slightly worse in the service department. So Whataburger, Burgerking, McDonalds, then Wendy's for fast food. Nothing taste better than the triple meat triple cheese burger from Whataburger. If Wendy's would bring back the Spicy Baconator I would put up with the horrible service to get one.
