For those of you paranoid about the zombie apocolypse, here's an article about a google map overlay displaying things such as gun stores, pharmacies, grocery stores, malls, hospitals, cemetaries, etc.
There's also an addition that changes the map color to show you "danger zones" or highly populated areas to stay away from.
All to get you ready for the zombie apocolypse.
Here's the article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2127933/Zombie-survival-Google-Map-help-food-guns.html
Here's the actual website for the map: http://mapofthedead.com/
Discuss.

Wow, funny how the article gives Long Island as an example. Nice to know where to avoid and shop when "it" happens.

It's missing two critical points of information. Pawn Shops and Surplus Stores. All the best survival weapons come from pawnshops back home. And surplus stores have all the MREs, cammo, and cold weather gear you could want.

LOL, was thinking the same thing. Fortunately I already know where those are locally to me. |

Well, while this is completely awesome. It's still relatively new and I'm sure you could email them (if they have an email I didn't check) to get them to add it in there. If not, you could always go to the actual google maps to find pawn shops and surplus stores around the area.
I know another thing they don't have is BassPro Shop or Cabella's, both GREAT places for survival equipment.

Its cool, but a little finnicky. My entire town is a "Danger zone" (population roughly 3000 for 3 square miles), so I guess that makes sense. Yet the park up the street is listed as safe or whatever. According to them, the Military is stationed down the street from my house at the "Us Army NCO Club".

Something odd. There are large swathes of land marked as dangerous when there is sweet stuff all out there. Basically desert.

I live near a pawn shop that carries crates of Moist Nuggets. It's where I bought mine. I could always head down there and grab an extra to cut down into an Obrez, because having the option of putting a fist-sized hole in a Z and setting its tattered clothing on fire at the same time would be pretty useful. |

I already have tons of weapons, and the only thing you need is a .22. Also zombie survival is old now.
