I tried to make this as spoiler free as possible....

I didnt understand who those two became zombies at the end.  The one that got stabbed could have been infected by blood on the knife, but the one who had his neck broken is a mystery to me.

It's the asymptomatic carrier scenario. If you remember, the guy in the CDC was trying to find a vaccine back in the first season, but he was working with blood from one of the first of the infected (his wife). In reality, the vaccine is useless since the survivors are carrying the disease, it just lies dormant in them until their immune system is compromised by death. Kinda like the CCR5-Delta 32 mutation with HIV. It can enter your bloodstream, but can't cause the damage until the immune system fails to function.

They wind up at the prison from the last scene, that's where they find whats-her-name who was saved by the sword wielding chick in the hood with the two arm-less zombies on chains. Rick continues his downward spiral into a Shane-like character until he ultimately redeems himself, etc. etc.

At least, that's what seems to be foreshadowed.

Haven't actually read the comics, but in reality, the story is so far removed from the comics now (from what I hear) that it's pretty much an entity all of its own.

The writers probably figured out quick that the show would be predictable if they followed the comics.

Read the comics, they're awesome and a lot better than the TV show in many ways.

Hopefully this finale isn't like the mid season finale...exciting, but leading to an otherwise boring season.

Anybody else wish Hershel and Andrea had died?

I'll keep watching regardless, but next season looks to be neat.

Here is what I don't understand.  In the beginning, if you got bit, you caught the virus, died, then came back.  But now, everyone is infected with it, but the virus doesn't kill them anymore, it just waits until they are dead.  What gives?

The same thing happens in the J.L. Bourne series, Day by Day Armageddon.  Except it is a virus or nanobot that creates the reanimation.

Walking Dead is one of the best shows on TV, and at the same time, it can be one of the worst. The zombie hunting, action, survival scenes are fantastic.

Then there is the daytime tv soap opera moments that occur anytime that Rick and Lori say more than a sentence to one another.
