That would take a couple days to get to full speed, lol. The motors I'm using now are 750 thrust, 6 burn rate, pretty economical and very fast. Took me almost 25 minutes just to run those out.

I hit around 50k m/s, saw the trees, then the game crashed.

I stuck the ion engine at the top of my last top speed rocket, got it up to 42k before starting the ion. I've got it sitting under a fuel tank that holds 165 too, so if I can do math correctly, that's like 19 days to burn at 0.0001 burn rate, lol.

Here it is after 12 hours, for some reason when I jettison one of the stages it kills the fuel status things, but anyhow...

For a game with no real point, it sure is fun, lol.

Still going this morning after 22.5 hours, doing 162525 m/s. That's 0.5 light speed, LOL.

Nice, but you're off a little bit.  That's .000005 light speed.

They really need to get to work on putting other planets in.

Hooray for doing math in my head, lol. Doing it with a calculator, 162,525 / 299792458 = 0.000542 light speed.

Woo! I went ahead and donated a tenner, so I should be in line for the full game as it's developed. Gonna try to faceplant a ship of some sort into the Mun.

Well, I made it to the moon... When I got there, it refused to let me turn around so my engines would be pointed away from it so I could slow down.  I made a new crater.

Successfully touched down on Mun and returned to Kearth.   The only problem is that my altimeter was still reading around 350m when I hit the surface of Mun, so I came in way too hot and damaged the landing engine.  For some reason, the hit made the throttle go to max and i couldn't get it to come back down.  I opted to just punch out the landing stage and start the return trip.

Takeoff

Mun Landing

Mun liftoff

Landed safely back on Kearth

I tried those lander legs on my rocket. I absolutely hated the things, for some reason when I had them on if I gave it more than 5% throttle in orbit the ship would start spinning uncontrolably.

Mine work fine as long as I have my SAS on.  I just tap F to briefly turn it off when I need to maneuver.

Why are some parts of yours red?

My round tank is also red, as is a high power ion engine. the rockets I try build with the red ion engines don't work any more. They fail or refuse to start. Pity because they are fantastic engines. They work if I keep them off the floor somehow.

They changed the image format for textures from 24 bit to 32 bit. You can fix it by re-saving the textures for parts if you have an image editor. Or just ignore it.
