   So far that is what momma has spent on new furniture and appliances, the contractor 1st bid to finish 'family room' and basement wall to block off furnaces and washer/drier, $10,000.  $7,000 for new carpet, interior paint unknown but she is armed with those paint cards.  When we got this money we said to ourselves we were not going to change our lifestyle, only the funds for my mancave improvements seem to have been placed under a 'budget' as it is "not important right now", and I quote.

	A friend of mine back home decided to get the cheapest carpet possible for the living room of his house while remodeling. Turns out that the cheapest is bright red. But he did it anyway, and then did all the paint and furniture to match the carpet. The finished product is actually quite cool, very retro.
