Twice these playoffs, a redwing has been high sticked, and blood has been drawn.

Both times, we have not gotten a powerplay from it.

Well, it's not all bad.

Ovi, Steckle, Knuble, Bradley, Chimera, and Brendan Morrison were all in my restaurant tonight.

Check it out:

And, I've got my picture with all of them! It's on a co-worker's camera though, so I won't have it until tomorrow.

Oh, and Ovi is nice in person and Knuble is sincerely, one of the nicest guys I've met that's been a celebrity.

Y'know, the crazy thing about the world of hockey is how hard it is to hate even the members of the team that you hate. Scott Hartnell is a total tool, but I read a touching story from last year's playoffs where he made fun of himself for the benefit of some kid from Pittsburgh, who was teasing him...not at all like other sports where the douchey players are real life douches, like the Steelers QB who competes harder at sexually assulting women than he does at football.

Bringing it round to this year, enter THIS STORY about Brooks Leich of the Capitals.

Kudos to him...sorry Tallen, I still think Boudreau is a total ass.

And Tallen, you amazing lucky bastard, thats legendary. I still wish I could have somehow got my puck signed. Oh, and I'll take the tenderloin please

I still wonder why anyone ever needs help with changing a flat tire....honestly. Even if you've NEVER done it, you should be able to figure it out, its that simple.

met joe kocur one time when i was a kid(id have to have been a kid seeings how he's been out of the league for ages) took time out of his breakfast to sign a few items for me and tell me a couple stories.
my fiance ran into a large group of lions and they all took the time to sign autographs for her.

I'd resist the urge to kick him in the knees.

Seriously though, I'd probably just let him be. I really waffled back and forth over whether to get a picture with them and ask for autographs. I didn't want to be "that guy" who ruined their good time by asking for that stuff, but I really like the whole team and appreciate the good times that I've had watching them play, so I bought them all a round of drinks in return for their generosity, and told them how much we all (meaning the restaurant employees) enjoyed this past season. Mike Knuble and Brendan Morrison were really really nice about the whole thing, they were all smiles and handshakes. Everyone else was nice too, but they stood out as the guys who really enjoy meeting fans.

tallen, your position at the restaurant alone kind of allows you a special spot to go meet them and not be a jerk by doing so. You're not just some yahoo 3 tables over who insists martha takes 6 pictures of him with each player

I hope so, because I'd be upset if they didn't come back because I intruded on their "me" time.

Oh, apparently after I left, Ovi left, but then Eric Fehr and another player (possibly Brooks Laich) came in and they all stayed until 12:30 or so (last call). I'm hoping they enjoyed themselves enough to come back. My place is pretty ideal for high-profile people to hang out as all of our little nooks and crannies give you a lot of privacy that you don't get at a regular bar/restaurant.

What happened to the Wings tonight, USAF?

Wow...the only thing going for you now is the knowledge that if there's any team that could blow a 3-0 series lead, it's the Sharks...

^In your quick and irrational Crosby bash of the day, you botched the markup.

Ya I figured there was something wrong with it.  There I fixed it.  Probably the funniest Crosby bash I've seen.
