Hey Scotchy, how common are Vauxhall (or is it Opel in GB, and Vauxhall is Germany?) VX220, (or Opel Speedster) around you? I know they don't make them anymore, but do you still see them around and for sale?

Dream car: Hennessey Venom 800, based off the 2000 Viper, just before the body style change. I just don't like new Vipers.

Not exactly a car but my dream is to get myself a old 359 Pete with a 8V-92T Detroit two stroke Diesel.
and a custom camper trailer with a storage spot in back for my bikes. The trailer wont happen but i WILL own a old rig with that engine one day. Its sounds SOOOOOOO cool and is by far the coolest looking motor EVER built. Got to work on em for a bit when i started my Diesel mechanic appreniceship and i fell in love with those engines. IM long since a licensed mechanic now and its been man years since that first job BUT i STILL WANT THAT ENGINE. One of my customers has one in a W900 KW that he built up as a competition pulling rig. He has nodded his quite a bit and his is now twin turboed. Its putting down over 800hp and ungodly amounts of tq (over 1800lbs/ft). God i love that truck. They look so impressive. Ya got a BIG 736ci (12 liter) V8 with a supercharger on the top and bolted on top of the supercharger is a BIG old turbo. (Granted the Supercharger is not their for performance its for scavenging as its a two stroke but it still looks COOL). And NOTHING sounds like the old two smokes LOL. I used to dyno them in the rebuild shop. Id be locked in a small room with a dyno running the piss outa these things and id be smiling from ear to ear as i sweated my ASS off LOL. Only place ya seem them now adaysare in older buses some military equipment/vehicals, some older larger boats and alot of heavy construction equipment. You also see the BIGGER versions in trains and such. Heres some pics and vids of these awesome beasts. later this year i going to watch the guy from work run his KW at the rodeo i get lot of pics and vid then. Oh and these engines slightly modded STILL out power even todays BIG 16L cats and cummins but are much worse on fuel and are not as torquey down low AND they ALWAYS leak oil if they dont it means ya ran outa oil LOL. |

As far as a practical dream car, I already own mine. A Jeep Wrangler.
In the WTH category, I think it would be fun to drive a VW Thing.
And in a more "typical" aspirational car, I still think the best looking performance car in the world is the Corvette. Edited by Shub - 18 March 2010 at 10:00pm |

Ive always wanted to see a set of those wheels on something.
Also, I just sold a Beetle almost exactly like that one. Same generation and 5 speed. $1000. Needed a new PCM |

Sporx, we used to own a VW Beetle, and for the love of all things holy, do not make the same mistake.

LOL Once they have the AAAV, you might be able to pick up one of these. But I don't think you can use the firepower to keep the road clear, unfortunately. |
