So the ladies dad just sent us this email from his friend on Vancouver Island:
"In January 2009 the weather was so cold that the bald eagles were cruising over houses looking for helpless cats to make a quick meal. Some kind souls decided to feed the eagles down at Goose Spit so they would survive the cold spell."
No zoom lense:
The guys
Figured you guys might enjoy that |

First time I saw a bald eagle, I was astounded. Super massive and beautiful creatures. Definitely a good symbol for America.

They're not that uncommon up north, theres an eagles nest near the hydro dam in whitehorse actually. See them there and alaska a fair amount. Either way, Canada has a sweet national animal

That is so cool! Bald eagles migrate over western PA, and there is an eagle observatory in the mountains east of here, where you can see them stop occasionally during migratory seasons. But I have never seen one. :(

They all look so serious.
They need to lighten up. |

Jmac needs to go west of Worchester sometime. Cool pics, I see them just about every time I go fishing in the spring, and they occasionally buzz over campus.

Not living in bumble-you-know-where > living somewhere beautiful I take vacations to beautiful places, that's enough for me. *EDIT* Forgot the thread was about bald eagles. A pair of them live on Carnegie Lake (Princeton's lake, Carnegie was going to give them a ton of money, and they were going to name a science building after him, but instead some student told him they needed a lake, so he had it built). Pretty cool birds, although I'm not sure that their personality is one I would want associated with the US. Although we probably live up to it. Edited by ParielIsBack - 06 February 2010 at 5:08pm |

I am frequently west of Worcester as my paintball team is Worcester Legion and for some reason we play in like Springfield. On that note, at least I know how to pronounce Worcester .I want to see a bald eagle, didn't know you could see them in mass. |
