I've heard a lot of good things about this car, so hopefully it lives up to it in the US market.

As long as they keep the engine/suspension platform the same as the euro specs it'll be amazing.

I barely fit in my Muskrat, I can't imagine stuffing all 6'5 of myself into one of those. |

Probably won't see it here for another year and a half.
Plus this is not Chryslers' idea. Fiat take-overs are a wonderful thing. Expect some Alfa's here shortly as well (rebadged obviously). If I can snag a turbo 500 for about 21k I'll trade my mini in. Otherwise Ill stick with what I got. I would rather trade it in for a turbo fiesta, but Ford doesn't seem to think there is a market for it. |

FTFA:
It's going to be like every other euro-car transplant over here. Severely de-tuned in an effort to keep it in the typical small-car price range. Furthermore, FIAT and A-R will have a very very tough time getting into the market over here given their rather unsavory history on this side of the Atlantic. |

That's what I was thinking. I learned most of what I know about home auto repair courtesy of a Fiat 132 sedan I owned when I was stationed in the UK. When I sold it it still had the clutch cable held to the side of the firewall (the weld on the guide broke) with the piece of metal coat hanger I used as an emergency fix. Also:

to little to late... if they tried it before they sold out maybe it would be worth something...
sadly ford is doing it right... instead of begging for help they are trying to revamp their line with vehicles that people will buy... |
