Fare thee well T&O....

In just over 8 hours I'll be on the road to Timberline Resort in Davis, WV where it has been snowing since Tuesday and will continue to do so for the two days that I will be skiing its 1,000 vertical feet of double-black diamond laden goodness. By the time most of you are reading this, I will already be hopped up on pure excitement and dunkin' donuts' "turbo" shots in coffee. The bags are packed, the skis are waxed and sharpened, the boots... oh crap! Okay, the boots are now in their bag and next to the door. My flask is full of the MacCallan 12 year, the goggles have been properly cleaned and polished with cat-crap. I even have my PA-63 with 2 mags and extra ammo in the bag along with a machete if we were to get stranded on the road there and need to shoot small game to eat. I'm all set. Except now I can't sleep.

So if by Monday morning I'm not online posting amazing pictures and video of what was a truly epic ski weekend, check the hospital in Elkins, WV to see if I was admitted with a broken, well, anything. Otherwise, someone should call the WV DOT and have them start searching the roads for us. They'll know it's me by the smell of roasting squirrel which I shot with my PA-63 and skinned with the machete.

If some kid pushes you to the ground and shoves snow down your shirt, I swear I didn't hire him.

Well, we got 8" of beautiful dry, light powder yesterday. It was simply gorgeous skiing all day long. A bit on the cold side with a high of 13*F, but definitely worth the potential for frost bite.

I also found out that my wife is a natural when it comes to skiing. She'd only ever been to the crappy NC ski slope "Wolf-Laurel" once when she was 16. She started out on the bunny slope and by the end of the day yesterday she was skiing the 2-mile-long Salamander slope (still a green, but a long, fun, and at times steep green). She didn't fall once, not even getting on or off the chair lift.
