Colbert tends to be more middle of the road than Stewart, who can be pretty obvious with his left wing bias.

That being said, I'm conservative and watch both of them every chance I get. They're both comedy geniuses in their own right.

As far as Jay and Conan-this thread needs a neither button. I worship Jay as a car god, and as a late night talk show host he's unmatched, but to be honest I don't really laugh at him or Conan enough to really care.

My issue with Conan is that, as someone already pointed out, he's just immature. The late shows should be risque and edgy while still retaining some level of class-Conan simply takes the humor too low brow for the audience.

I loved Conan as a kid, watched him every night (when my mom wasn't paying attnetion...) growing up. I literally rarely ever missed a show-now either he's lost it, or else it's just not as funny when you're older.

Umm...

Jon Stewart is being himself on the show.

Stephen Colbert is playing a character.

The only T.V. I ever watch is the history channel or Top Gear. Top gear I watched religiously before my DVR broke, I rarely watch anything now, so it doesn't matter to me.

But for what it is worth, Leno is by far the funnier of the two, but neither of them really entertain me.

Jon stewart himself is more left wing.

Colbert's character is very right wing(which leads to making fun of republicans more).

As a fellow conservative, I must let you now that I am reporting you for giving your stance up so easily when you clearly could have argued for at least another page. You'll be hearing from Conservative HQ shortly I imagine. Sorry.

Hmmmmm.  I have some conservative values, but I wouldn't consider myself a true Conservative.  True Conservatives have an overwhelmingly blind zeal for the Republican party.  It would only the most dire of circumstances that I would vote Republican again.  You know, like world-ending consequences which would pretty much be redundant.

Man, now you're really asking for it. I had to text 911 to my local contact upon hearing of this news to insure that they brought a copy of the Constitution with them to bring you back to your senses. Lay back and take it easy. Help is on the way.

Stewart takes shots at everybody though, dem and repub.  While Colbert is also hilarious, his whole character is SUPPOSED to act very right wing.  The sarcasm isn't some hidden thing that people don't catch.

I was pretty aware of that...but both shows in their own way are pretty left wing. While yes, Colbert is a character, his sarcasm is geared to making fun of republican stereotypes, but between the two I find Stewarts show to be the more blatant. Colbert, from what I've seen, is a little less harsh in his sarcasm than Stewart in his seriousness.

Stewart himself is obviously pretty left, but his show does not discriminate.   If a dem does something stupid he is just as fast to jump on them as he is a republican.  Just so happens that Republicans are easier to make fun of.

That's why I like Stewart. He does not discriminate when calling out the stupid. That, and the amount of win in his show is pretty incredible.

Again, the outcome of this isn't going to effect me in any way, so I'm firmly on the "Who cares" boat, but Jimmy Kimmel really pasted Leno last night didn't he?

Apparently Conan's ratings are going through the roof now.
I foresee Leno's show tanking. There were a lot of people who watched both shows, and now that one's being handed a very dirty end of a stick, I'd be willing to bet a significant number of people will stop watching late night all together.
