The End is in Sight!

I've got 21 credit hours of coursework to complete before I graduate! If everything works out, and I get to go to OCS this summer, I'll graduate at the end of this year. If I can't do OCS, I can graduate in the summer (but I wont have a job ready for me). For having changed my major 2 years in to school, it's surprising to me that I'm still on track.

Anyway, for y'allz still in school. How much time left?

And this should be the statement that makes you realize that the vast majority of college courses are indeed nothing but "fluff". Yes, certain courses cross over, but let's face it, very little of your time is actually spent doing what it is you're training to do when you get out of school. If you took out all the fluff courses, you'd be done in 2 years. Hence the fact that trade specialization colleges such as my alma mater can get you through a bachelor's in less than 3 years.

Agreed. Looking through the document which brings me the news, a good year or so of irrelevant classes can be removed. Many of those unnecessary classes are just there to prove that you're literate and can handle basic math.

The one positive thing I can say about the courses I've taken is that many of them are applicable at all stages of one's flying career. For pretty much all of the aviation classes I've taken, I can apply the lessons in my current training and well into the future. They provide knowledge that is necessary for pilots but that may not be received when in training for some jobs.

My minor (Meteorology) has classes that should really be required for pilots.

Anyway, I'm just glad it's almost over.

Doing my internship this semester then I'm done.

Bittersweet, and crap job market.

Still a year and a half left in school. Soon to start booking my police testing though.

I've got 46 credit hours to go because UT requires I do 60 on campus, no matter how little it would actually take for me to get a major and minor completed. I'll end up doing more than 20 extra hours because of that silly rule.
