When a university prof asks me to close my laptop, in a 3D modeling and fabrication class. You're a prof on a tech campus, get used to laptops being present in your class and deal with it.

Me too. Our president made us a "laptop university"and I have 2 classes now that won't let me take notes on my laptop.

I'm not a big fan of laptops in the class room only because there are
atleast 6 douche-nozzles in each 150 person class typing as loud as
they can all in unison.

To be honest, not usually. But when you are in an old building with horrible enough accoustics that you can't usually hear the prof in the first place. It gets pretty annoying. Then again, I don't really have to worry about it anymore.
You could get out a tape recorder and say everything he says back into it. Or bring in an entire Desktop to class. |

i don't mind the laptops being in class, especially since im on a wireless campus. leaves a lot of room to keep yourself entertained when things get boring
