Anyone attend wine tastings? I'm thinking about catching the next one at the restaurant where I work. My wine knowledge is horrible and could really use a boost.

i havent, i wouldnt know where to start. i work at a costco and i havent tried it yet but the menaje trois red wine sells VERY well. i usually drink red wine with sprite to mellow the burning/warm feeling in my throat.

I attended a few through local wine vineyards. I do enjoy going to them, my knowledge in wine is still lacking greatly but you do learn some stuff. It's cool to find the flavors that you're supposed to be tasting rather than ignoring them.

I generally rotate between Stolichnaya Vodka, Jagermeister, and Southern Comfort for my hard liqours. Although, I have been phasing out SoCo because I am just too damn good at drinking it and end up groping women on the dance floor. Cranberry juice is always my chase or mix. If I chase, it is a cocktail of cranberry and whatever I'm drinking.

For beer, it's all good pretty much but I do have standards. I only started liking beer a few months ago, so my experience is limited. I mostly drink Molson Canadian, the Strong Bravaria tallboys, or Pilsner tallboys when it comes to beer.

There is also this brewery here in Halifax called "Propellor". They use the honey I produce in the summer in their honey beer. I drink it sometimes because it is pretty satisfying to know that your hardwork went into something that many people enjoy.

I've got a buddy in the same situation, who won't even drink coffee anymore because of an addictive personality. I don't think I've seen the guy drink anything more severe than snapple in the last few years.

I go for a Yuengling or a Sam Adams, depends on what's available.

If it's not beer, it's either scotch (Glenlivet only) or some form of whiskey (Whiskey sour, jack and coke, etc)
