I have a little Spanish knowledge after three years of it in high school. nothing to brag about hwoever. I plan on using Rosetta Stone for Spanish as well..

For those who are curious, I started using the German Rosetta Stone today and am pretty shocked at how much I liked it. It may only be day one, but I definitely like the program and will continue using it. I'll update this thread at a later date.

Depends on your line of work.

I guarantee I'll run into dozens of Germans, French, Italians, and Russians before I find one Hispanic.

I had a buddy get the German Rossetta Stone for me...but I have yet to actually get it from him.  I hope it works, I really want to be fluent in German.  I took 1 years worth of it in college, so I'm hoping that combined with the classes the software will help me, because as of right now I can only read german.  Talking is too fast for me to keep pace. 

I guess if you're a teacher or some such, that makes sense.

But in many places it simply won't be something you run into.

If you're setting video games as a goal in your life, you need to do some reevaluation.

Honestly, I think the top languages you can study today are Chinese, Farsi, and Spanish, depending what job you're looking at.  No matter how much we like to think English is the most important language, those three will all be shaping our country for the foreseeable future.
