Probably because he'd prefer to be part of the big pile before he adapted to our current society. |

THEY TOOK OUR JOBS!!! In all seriousness, that's an interesting position to take. Any particular reason why? |

I have a little Spanish knowledge after three years of it in high school. nothing to brag about hwoever. I plan on using Rosetta Stone for Spanish as well.. For those who are curious, I started using the German Rosetta Stone today and am pretty shocked at how much I liked it. It may only be day one, but I definitely like the program and will continue using it. I'll update this thread at a later date. |

Depends on your line of work. I guarantee I'll run into dozens of Germans, French, Italians, and Russians before I find one Hispanic. |

Yeah, it's so much better on the resume, but I'm just not that eager to learn Spanish.
Perhaps I'm afraid to fail. Not a lot of Germans around to call me out, although my wife's aunt's girlfriend (partner) is German and speaks to me in German sometimes. Yes, I speak German to a native-German-speaking lesbian. |

If you live in the U.S., learning German is kind of silly.
Learn Spanish, and display it as high up in your resume as you can. You'll thank me later. |

I have considered the french version for a while, as I've heard good things about it, and it can't hurt to try.
Also I agree with HV, pirates aren't the only ones stealing. |

I had a buddy get the German Rossetta Stone for me...but I have yet to actually get it from him. I hope it works, I really want to be fluent in German. I took 1 years worth of it in college, so I'm hoping that combined with the classes the software will help me, because as of right now I can only read german. Talking is too fast for me to keep pace.

Hah, when they stop ripping people off, I'll consider not stealing their software. That applies to more than just the program in this thread. |

I guess if you're a teacher or some such, that makes sense.
But in many places it simply won't be something you run into. |

Sign language translators are not that common, so you can get a decent bonus.

If you're setting video games as a goal in your life, you need to do some reevaluation.

I did a demo of it in the mall on one of those booths, and it was pretty cool.
I agree with frozen because in the program you can "go back" or "skip" or "get help" so it can be easy to just not try. |

Perhaps.
Honestly, I think the top languages you can study today are Chinese, Farsi, and Spanish, depending what job you're looking at. No matter how much we like to think English is the most important language, those three will all be shaping our country for the foreseeable future. |
