Mustangs were possibly in my choice of "new to me" cars next year. Drove my mother's husbands a few months back and hated to admit that I REALLY liked it. And since when did anything Volkswagen besides the Cabrio automatically become a girls car? I always thought the Miata was the quintessential Chick Mobile. |

I think miatas were up until people starting cramming V8s in them. My votes for the Sebring. |

I should be more specific, I'm referring to the the vert Sebring. The only guys I've seen in one told me how embarrassing it was to be seen in it. I'd much rather be in a miata, these days those cars are pretty quick. Great track cars. |

I love Mustangs myself, and they have a lot of performance potential.
As far as being a "girl car", I'd consider a VW Beetle or a Mini Cooler more along those lines...lol. |

See, I think Mini Coopers are neat cars. But I've never understood the whole desire for horsepower, torque, speed, handling, etc. for a consumer car just to get from point A to point B. It just seems like an unnecessary amount of emphasis is put on things that most people will never realize or experience the full potential. Of course, give me the keys to a Porsche and I'm not passing up a drive. That said, when the hell is a car company going to release a RELIABLE and well manufactured car that gets 35-40+ MPG? Or at least when will I learn about one? |

I've heard nothing but good news about the new Fusion. The North American Fiesta sounds promising as well. There are also high hopes for the Chevy Cruze. |

Ford has some really nice vehicles now. They have always been my favorite, and now they really have a great product line.

Corolla?
I find the Miata to not be a chick car, mostly because of it's serious performance potential in the turns....and because it typically is a 5/6 speed. We all know women can't operate a 3rd pedal AND do their make-up as they drive.

Mini Coopers are neat, but I wouldn't personally want to own one as my only vehicle. For most enthusiasts, Cars are not merely a means of transportation from point A to point B. Back before college, when I actually had money, anything auto related was my hobby... Off roading, performance (for the track that is), or merely just aesthetic work, it was all my passion. Now I'm in school and dirt poor with no money for anything aside from gasoline, rent, insurance and food, but you get the point. Also, any Corolla with a 1zz engine (2004-2008), will easily get 35mpg while being extremely reliable. Edited by Gator Taco - 02 December 2009 at 10:22am |

Oh come on!! Look at all the old farts driving around in their Vettes and Porsches... The Yeeha's running around with short pipes trying to burn rubber around the corners, or the kid that runs a Cat-back system on an otherwise stock ricer, It's all just an attempt to compensate for something lacking.. If you want to go fast, buy a race car. Hopping up a street driven vehicle is all about increasing your peen and getting people to look at you.

How difficult is it to understand that some people enjoy working on cars and driving something that they made personal. It's not all about 'hey look at me', there is a huge automotive community that understands what I'm talking about. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean anything. |

You're right car shows aren't about showing off or anything. That's why owners get there early to try and get spots closer to the gates, so they get more traffic. I've been on the other side, I'm not speaking from inexperience. It's 99.9999999999999% about showing who's got the biggest set of junk.
