...don't get along with my heart well. I haven't had caffeine in somewhere around a year or so?
However, I've been having trouble staying awake at work. I sit in an office all night, and see maybe 5 or 6 patients on a 13 hour shift tops. I rotate between Newgrounds and watching bootlegs all night, and even then I drift away. So the other day I go into my vending machine room and they've accidentally loaded the normally 2.25 monsters into the .60 slot. I'm like "HEY!" and buy all of them.
So here I am, couple Monsters later, and I'm suddenly realizing my love / hate relationships with these things. I mean, I'm wide awake, but at the same time...completely jittery and bored.
TL;DR-Not enjoying energy drinks at all atm.
Also-they taste terrible. I feel like I just had a couple dozen sweet tarts dissolved into a Sprite. Ugh. Edited by stratoaxe - 23 November 2009 at 3:07am |

I don't get much energy from them so I drink them for their taste.
I haven't found many I like though. Monster Assault, Monster Khaos and Red Bull are the primary 3 I buy. The rest of the Monster line ranges from meh to disgusting. |

I will swear by those stupid little 5 hour energy drinks. They taste like crap, but they really do work. I've used them a number of times for driving long distances and helping me through tedium at work- no crash and no jitters. Its really very effective.
I used to drink Red Bull religiously, but they used to like to send me running for the john shortly after consumption. Also, in an emergency (if you've got about half hour to spare for it to kick in) No-Doz works too. Buy you need to be careful with that- they WILL give you the jitters if you take too much, and coming down off of No-Doz sucks. Especially when you popped two of them and are driving 300 miles. Ouch. One thing I've found that helps me stay awake during the day, and I can't figure out why, unless the sugar content is higher than I thought- is gatorade. Nurse a large bottle of that, and it may help. It's worked for me. |

Eh, im not a fan of monster. I mainly drink Amp Relaunch (the orange stuff) and Bawls (Rootbeer flavor in the glass bottle).
If Monsters do that to you, never drink Redline. Bad things would happen.

NOS is pretty decent stuff. It sure helped me get through a 18 hour drive. It does't taste bad either.

I like Monster java the most. followed by the gold SoBe can stuff. 5 Hour energies work fine for me for tests and papers, but I can't rely on them for driving home. I took one freshman year after being awake for about 36 hours for the 2 hour drive home. I fell asleep twice and woke up stradling the lanes.

I hate most energy drinks. Vault isnt bad, but its merely soda and doesnt do anything for me. Execpt speed up my death probably.
I also hate jager, and redbull, but I somehow like jagerbombs. Although I have only drankjagerbombs once and dont plan on often. The chemistry of that drink is probably dangerous.

We have an energy drink here called Beaver Buzz. It's manufactured in Canada, I don't know if it gets exported at all. I drink Saskatoon Beaver Buzz or Red Bull whenever I'm making a longer drive.
Every once in a while I'll stafftab a Red Bull at work when I'm feeling a tired lack of motivation. If I drink too many too fast I seriously don't feel good. I think mixing energy drinks and alcohol is the stupidest idea ever. It's not even legal for us to serve them in the same glass here. If you guys see Beaver Buzz, try it. If you have had it, let me know, I'm curious over what size of area it's avalible. |
