I currently use the JJ 14" ceramic. Been thinking of moving up to the hammerhead. Just need to squirrel away the cash

I love my Hammerhead barrel. It is the same as the Tippmann Straightline barrel.
There are countless threads on different forums debunking the rifled barrels.
Slow motion shows a slow rate of rotation negating the true firearm rifle effect.
I'm not sure what makes it shoot better than my All American, J&J, Dye UL, ..
My guess is the slight centrifugally force of the spinning ball keeps the fill
uniformally against the shell allowing it to be more stable. Just my opinion.
I sdid shoot an Empire rifled barrel. It was terrible. I'll stick with HH Edited by TinMan - 15 November 2009 at 6:28pm |

Just wondering.
The way I see it,paintball barrels are all larger than the paint balls we use. The only adjustment is in the insert itself. Matching the paintball to the insert and not the barrel. If this is true, does a rifled barrel have any effect on the balls flight path? With real firearms, the projectile is the same if not slightly larger than the barrel itself and the rifling creates the spiraling effect of the bullet. Am I missing something?
