Yeah, they get off of school because a couple million of them died storming German trenches.  Good deal.

I don't have class.  I will be doing an essay for my history of war class.

Well considering Canada's role in WWI, I'd sure hope so.

Doesn't really happen in the US.  My history teacher wears one though (he's Irish).

Tomorrow I'll be marching in downtown Ottawa as part of the ceremony. After that, we all go out and start raising glasses to the fallen.

It's a day that's regained a lot of its meaning in the eyes of many in the past several years.
"Abortion is not "choice" in America. It is forced and the democrats are behind it, with the goal of eugenics at its foundation."

-FreeEnterprise, 21 April 2011.

Yup, he actually said that.

I get holiday pay for it even though Wednesday is my day off.  Getting called in for OT tomorrow would be especially sweet.  Thumbs Up

Most schools in Ontario don't get it off but I'm in a military University and thus, do.

I'm on duty tomorrow so I get to hoist the flags in the morning, do a parade a bit later on, and sit in the duty office all day rather than getting to enjoy my day off. Most of the rest of my school is off doing parades across the province.

I've got off from work tomorrow which is nice. I get to spend a little time underneath my car, then the rest of the day is some much needed quality time with the wife and Kid.

I usually see poppies for sale for charity or whatever. Buy a Poppy for a dollar, money goes to VFW or whatever.

Ive never worn one, but I remember growing up my parents would usually buy one and stick it in the sunvisor of the car/truck. I would do the same but havent seen any dontation things around.
