A bunch of kids at my school were wearing the masks even though there is no flu within about 300 miles from us, but its fun. I'm making jokes like crazy about it. I'll have to try the grocery store one. Big smile

I work in a pharmacy and so far we sold out of surgical masks, and running low on gloves, and running low on hand santizer.

I don't know if this is happening to other pharmacies but they are putting a restricted limit on the perscribed antibiotics for the flu.

Yeah I read about the surgical masks doing very little to nothing about protecting yourself but people are still buying them.

While it may not protect the wearer, it may actually prevent someone who is infected from spreading it.  It used to be the Japanese custom to wear surgical masks when one had a cold (or something similar) specifically for that reason as it is considered rude to spread infections.  (I say "used to be" because I do not know if it still is or not.)

Mack's got it hit on the head with the masks. They prevent the droplets of mucus and saliva from entering the immediate atmosphere which helps prevent the spread of the disease. Surgical masks aren't to keep the doctors from getting sick, they're there to prevent the doctors spreading germs to the patients.

It's all a conspiracy, Obama did it.  He has close ties to surgical mask companies, so told CNN/BBC/etc. to take pictures of everyone with masks on so people go crazy and get mislead.  He did it to boost the economy.

Schools in and around Fort Worth have been closed due to a confirmed case of swine flu... They are closing them until May 11th.

I hope this "cold" that I have is the swine flu. I'll recover from it (we have more medicine than the Mexicans, I'm not worried), while transmitting it to the several hundred customers I've sold things to the past few days.

Then they'll be too sick to come to the store I work at.
That would be a win.
