Mounting Rail to Stock Alpha Black Shroud???

Alright, so I bought a rail from a reliable paintball site that said it would work great with the ABT, no drilling ... the mounting plates would hold firmly in the holes already on the top and bottom of the shroud. So, I bought it. Figured if it said it would work great with the ABT, it would. I should've known better.

I got the rail, went to put it on .. the rail is 6" long, and the shroud is quite shorter. Definitely doesn't work well with the ABT. My question ... does any rail work well when mounting to the stock shroud the ABT comes with? Do I need to purchase a new, longer shroud? Any help would be awesome and much appreciated. Thanks!!

Edit: By the stock shroud, I mean the shroud that came with the Alpha Black. I didn't want any confusion.
