Do you want my actual stance? I think 99.999% of America is too stupid to function. However, I'll be damned if they enact laws that affect me negatively just to keep these fools from shooting their balls off.

Legalizing a lot of things would lessen the problem of fighting it, but not the results of the legalization. Are you seriously suggesting legalizing heroin, cocaine, meth etc. ? Really? Why not legalize child pornography as well? We could save all sorts of money. Prostitution, loan sharking, all victimless crimes, lets open the flood gates. Why have any laws? If it feels good do it.

I wasn't necessarily talking about anything other than the drugs. Tax them heavily and use the funds for realistic education courses on sobriety and substance abuse (IE: Not DARE), as well as awareneness and rehabilitation programs.
Drug abuse/addiction is a public health issue, and one that jail doesn't fix.
People do drugs. I'd prefer if the people doing them were getting them from the pharmacy rather than funding some terrorist organization, as well as bringing the crime that comes with the black market into my neighborhood.

Take away the illegal drug trade, and see how much money the terrorists (and most criminals in general) have to buy guns.
