The instruments sound good for what they're going for and the singer is a good screamer but when he actually tries to sing he sucks really bad

Agreed on the band name sucking, but they aren't to bad. Though the vocalists "screams" are terrible IMHO.

They're not horrible, not that great either imo.
I like a couple of their songs.
I just started listening to Shinedown again the other day, I actually like some of their new CD. Generally most alt rock bands lose my attention after their first cd.
