Just got back from helping my cousin get unstuck. Him and his girlfriend decided to go out driving around in the back roads to 'chit chat' as he put it.
We just got like 5 inches of snow overnight and they ended up getting stuck when they tried to turn around in the middle of the road. He called me at like 4:30 to come pull him out. Afterwords, we went to Denny's and he paid. Moral of the story; Don't go out to chit chat in bad driving conditions late at night in a 2 wheel drive vehicle. Roads were crap here yesterday too. The wife and I were in Albany all afternoon, which is about an hour drive from us...coming home on the NYS thruway, I never broke 40MPH and the entire trip took us almost two and a half hours.
There were several spots where four wheel drive was necessary. |

No kidding, my old roommates picked the gf and I up to go hang out at their place. They pulled into an uncleared parking lot (I guess she thought she was a hotstuff snow driver) I guess to try to get her car to slide, which she couldn't do (wow) and yeah, there was over a foot of new snow, so the front of the car was pushing snow as it moved, and sure enough it got stuck over and over and we had to keep pushing it. So stupid... and she insisted she was a better driver in snow than her bf...which I'm sure she's not. |

Try driving over ice in a camaro :/ 220 RWHP, weighs nothing at all, rear wheel drive, plus I took it upon myself to make it even lighter by removing the back seat and other needless things... (fun to drive on uncrowded iced over roads, not fun when there is a semi coming tword you and you just spun out.) |
