Just a heads up on what I thought of a few weeks ago. Now a Congressman is saying the same thing.
A Civilian National Security Force, Has been tried, call it the KGB informant force, The Stasi Informants, The Gestapo inform on your neighbor policies. And more powerfull than the military? Comrade Obama is a more of a threat to your civil rights and freedom than many of you understand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt2yGzHfy7s One of the first things Hitler did when he was elected was to form a "civilian" National Police Force in the form of the SA/SS. The next was to undermine the leadership of the military and then under the pretext of National Security replaced the leadership with "Civilian" ex-military appointees loyal to the "cause" of "National Socialism". Any talk of a National Security Force should scare the bejesus out of anyone who does not see the writing on the wall with Obama. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iRxZox4GFoIweckPDP1oRhKBl HOwD94CCDU00 Edited by oldsoldier - 11 November 2008 at 1:16am |

I thin your concerns are as ridiculous now as I did
then. If you can't trust your soon-to-be commander in chief, at least put more trust in your judiciary. |

don't worry OS. i'm with you. the national goose (aka the nasty guard, aka the national guard) is more than enough on a state level.
and yes, i can back up my claims of calling the guard by those references. |

So....I don't understand why you are worried about this. It doesn't seem like too big of a logical jump to say that if you oppose a civilian force, you oppose a state militia, right? I'm not sure I see a great distinction between a civilian national security force and the military, sans job description and legal classification, either. And if for some reason our commander in cheif DID want to impose strict control over citizens, would the already well-trained and well-armed military forces not do a better job? With all the ways of maintaining discreet surveillance that the government has, I don't see the point of having civilians do so as well. The whole thing could be construed as an anti-terrorist scheme, anyway; this just appears to be more partisan bickering and fear-mongering. Once people start getting their rights revoked for arbitrary reasons, then we can worry about that administration. (OH WAIT!!!) |

What writing? I am pretty sure Obama doesn't hate jews. Nor does he want to kill people for speaking out against the government. I am also quite sure he doesn't want to blitzkrieg poland. |

What happened to the whole "If you don't have anything to hide then you have nothing to worry about" attitude?

That doesn't apply to a free state. you should have nothing to worry about regardless. Every imposition the government makes upon you or your lifestyle must be a justifiable necessity. What I do is not the government's business unless I do something to harm either other people or the state- and the state is NOT the government in power at the time, but rather the integrity of the actual national structure and system itself. That said, a civilian security force is not a threat to liberty in and of itself. It will depend what they are used for. |
