Kind of a know somebody who knows somebody opportunity...but I got hired at the local hospital in their cafeteria as a 'Food Service Assistant'.
Like Subway, only on a much larger scale. Some of my responsibilities would be unloading the trucks, making, serving and delivering food. Starting out at $9.44/hr plus health and dental coverage. 24-40 hrs per week. Basically one week will be 24 hours, the next week will be the same schedule plus Saturday and Sunday. I met a couple of the employees, mostly old ladies, they all seemed pretty nice. |

After reading to 'local hospital', I was expecting something much more dramatic than 'food service assistant'.
This thread does not deliver. Although...health/dental FTW |

Ha, hey man, those poor sick patients have to eat don't they? Nah, its not that big of a deal, but I feel like its a step up from the average fast food job which I'm getting sick of. Plus the pay is much better. I think at some point, depending on what shift I'm working, I can make over $10/hr. Plus I get payed Holidays whether or not I'm working them. In the end, this job is way better than working at Subway. edit; oh and I get to wear scrubs, way cool right? Edited by Zata - 22 August 2008 at 10:27pm |

I'm almost positive I'm gonna walk into a patients room and say something stupid like "hey how are ya doing today?" And have them end up being like some cancer patient with a 10% chance to live. I'd feel so dumb. |
