Good. Glad to hear it. Anybody who believes this is stupid. I hope to god some of the dudes who start these threads get near death experiences. These stupid r.i.p. threads about members with no proof are retarded. And I dont even have a prob with anyone here, this just seems so stupid.

I don't think it is too unreasonable to scan an obituary and post it for all to see with his picture.

obits take a few days to get in the paper.  and pics at a funeral?  really?  thats one of those things you dont do.

You guys have apparently never been to Richmond... our newspaper is very small.

I wasn't originally going to post in this thread because I too am suspicious that the whole thing might be a prank.

That said; prank or not, I do not believe in speaking ill of the dead.  It is both rude and pointless.  Rude in that the individual in question can't defend themselves and it adds additional pain for those who knew the individual.  Pointless in that the subject of such comments is beyond caring about them.

I also have no sympathy for drunk drivers.  However, they do not automatically deserve to die.  They deserve to lose their license, pay hefty fines and go to jail.  If, only if, they are repeat offenders who have taken the lives of others while driving under the influence do they deserve consideration for the death penalty.

That wasn't so hard.  Link to Richmond Register* online obituary page.  I'm sure someone who was really motivated could work a search using this location as a starting point to find an article on the accident or the appropriate obituary.

Way ahead of you, Mack.  I checked the Richmond Examiner, the  police blotter and the local PD website as well as a MADD site this AM.  I come up with zero. Some local guy bought it in Myrtle beach. That's all.

 

DUI deaths this past weekend was this AM. Not Richmond itself.

Congratulations; you now qualify as "really motivated."  I could easily see an obituary not being out yet, but one would expect a fatal accident to make the news.

Death's a hobby. Exactly, no report of a fatality that is DUI related. Odd?

Apparently it didnt take him too long to get banned from living either.
