http://www.tippmann.com

Looks like they are now producing an upgraded line of 98s called the platinum series. Also looks like they are now offering 2 year warranties on their products.

More information is available here:
http://www.tippmann.com/product_guide/markerDetails.aspx?cat egoryid=13#

Congrats Tippmann!

Such great improvements with this marker :D From the sight spring staying
in place, to the split receiver half. They did a great job with this marker.

I love My 98c. I need to get out and use it some time. It gets no use now that I have another stupidly expensive hobby (see sig).

All that and they still didn't make the front grip removable.

Idiots! The lot of them!

I like it. A lot. They've taken all my gripes about the original design and made them less bad. Props on the design! I don't really have a problem with the current fore-grip/vert adapter setup.

Some quick details for you guys:
-The sight spring now stays in place
-dont have to remove ASA screws to strip the marker
-The receiver halves are now split so you can access the rear internals
without completely stripping it (just like the modders have done for a
while, now comes standard)
-Power tube is easier to remove
-Front grip is more stable/sturdy
-Rails have been added
-New end cap
-Flatline that can screw on like a normal barrel
-Shoots 100000 feet without dropping an inch.

Ok I made that last one up, but otherwise some VERY nice/ impressive
additions/ changes.

The front sight thing is really nice. I don't know how many times I've lost that little spring.

Relax man, we all know that the superchromium is forward-compatible. It will actually remold its threads to fit any marker just by exposure to the image of said marker. Fact.

Shorty was telling me that Tippmann approached the moderator group and asked them to field what we've been saying about the 98's few downfalls and this is what they came up with. I'm actually impressed!

Hey! We couldnt make EVERY improvement on the 3rd model of the 98.  What else would we do after that? We have to be able to compete with companies who's marketing strategy is like DYE's.
