Cool looking marker.

So is tippmann done with dovetail rails?

The #1 thing I like about it is that you don't have to remove the asa screws anymore.

The two year warranty is great too.

So it looks close to the x7... any chance it will accept x7 shrouds?

Well done on tipmann's part.

Carl, I wouldn't count the dovetail out. If you watch the release video, it looks like the rental version still has a dovetail and that the picatinny rail attaches over top of the dovetail for the production models. I could be wrong though.

The updated design addressed loads of things I didn't like about the 98.

Nice to see a shorter Flatline for the 98, though I would probably use an
Apex.

I wonder if it will accept an E-Bolt?

Basically the alleviated the few flaws that the M98 had to start with. The front sight spring was always a huge pain.

looks good. i remember when i got my 98c a few years ago, i thought it would be the best thing around forever...the older model of it, with the letters protruding, not the sticker on '98CUSTOM'

That's not what the average tippmann consumer wants most likely.

New players like the ability to easily put scopes and sights and such on.

Too bad thats not a real truck!

Its nice to see some new things come from Tippmann, but I would have made the Picatinny Rail and front grip removable, had it made out of magnesium, and added some other bells and whistles such as the A5 pull pins. The quick strip reciever is nice, but there is no other benefit other than that over the 98c. I would have aimed it at currrent 98 owners as well.

Ironically, the Picatinny Rail was developed pretty much right next door to me in Picatinny Arsenal which is right next to my town.

I was thinking magnesium too.

Removable front grip would indeed be an improvement. My attitude toward frames is they should be minimal, with lots of ways and places to add things to them. Modularity FTW.
