I did some searching and found out they don't send it via mail until the 15th for the Marine Corps.

you dont need your W2, you can pull ALL the info you need
off your LES to file taxes. Ive done it a few times when I was on float
or bouncing from DET to DET and mail couldnt keep up.
Thank God for allotments to cover important bills ( Car / insurance / creditcards / loans ) because there was times out and about I recieved mail 3-4 weeks after it was sent and would have been screwed paying bills. I'm trying to figure that out myself, because they are shorting me about 10 weeks. Where did those 2 and a half months go, the Bermuda Triangle? Evil, in the close to 13 weeks I was there, I made only about $1,200.
