The laminate is nice looking, but I like the ruggedness and bad ass looks of the synthetic. |

I think the synthetic looks great, especially on shotguns. When do you get to try it out?

I wish I would have gotten synthetic for my 870. Sadly they didn't have an 870 super magnum in synthetic so I went with the wood.

I like the 500 more than the 870 myself. And there are plenty of synthetic hunting stocks, most bird camo stocks are.

wood looks so much better...imo.. and ^870>500...literally... i haven't shot a 500 much but i love my 870. they seem to be very similar to me except the 500 is cheaper.

I like the fit of my 500 more, it's a little longer but it is just so comfortable. And I have both an 870 and a 500 literally sitting behind me. I'd take the 500 any day. But the 870 would be my second choice, the nice thing about the 870 is the weight, it weighs nothing.
