Yeah. Should I keep that scope on it? It really doesn't help much except for scouting the land. It's small and not very noticible and black. It's power is 4X15. Oh and what's a good hopper for this gun? I currently have the stock hopper it comes with and one of my friends gave me an electric VL Quantum, both hold 200 balls.

Most aren't.

I've found that most barrels share the same effective range but their accuracy between that range differs a lot. (though there are a lot of other factors contributing to accuracy)

To piggy back on Jerseypaint's post. 14" will give you a nice balance between the sound-reducing capabilities of the porting in a barrel and maneuverability as well as efficiency.

My suggestions for barrels are the J&J Ceramic (one piece, two piece, or kit) and the LAPCO Bigshot.

HPA is the same as N2. And HPA is usually cheaper to fill than CO2, but the tanks cost more.

Best barrel size is usually around 12", not too big that its going to impede you while playing, and not so small that you can't press into bunkers (if playing with inflatables). If you want to go smaller, the smallest you should get is between 8-10", and the largest being 14-16"

Yeah I thought that rank didn't exist. I would switch to HPA or N2 but I don't think that any place around here refills that. I've also heard that N2 is pretty expensive. Is HPA cheaper than C02? What should the size of the barrel? The nearest place that sells gear and equpiment is Academy in Conroe. Oh and I'm looking for performance rather than looks. Thanks for the feed back.

QFT X100

Nobody cares that someone assigned you some imaginary "legendary" rank. It holds no value here.

Also, you both have been called out on your poor spelling and grammar a few times not yet you have not put any noticeable effort towards improvement. Even little things such as minor spelling mistakes and capitalization make it harder to read. By not even making the effort to do a simple once over of your post, you are representing yourself and your team badly. Spending 10 seconds to make your post easier to read is only fair if you expect us to help you. Showing effort on your part will definately help you get more and better help.

To start you off, you should edit your origional post and replace it with this:

What barrel should i put on it and what extras should i add on? I am second in command for the Huntsville (Texas) Team Spartans. My position is right wing and my rank is legendary (That's the rank he told me). I am working on getting another marker for speedball but for right now, we are more or less woodsball and urban. Thanks!

And that's just basic spelling and grammar.

I've been sitting here a full 5 minutes trying to figure out the best way to put all of this. So, I'm going to be frank with you.

First off, from the 9 other posts you and your friend have put up, we understand that you play for some "team" which has named itself the "Spartans" and that you are from Huntsville, TX. You don't need to include that in every post as all it really does is make you look like a complete tool. You're talking to a forum filled with people who play PSP/NPPL/CFOA/NEPL/NCPA paintball on established and very very good teams. Throwing out that you're on a "team" does little to improve your image in the collective mind of the forum. Rather, it hurts our image of you and those you associate with which makes us less inclined to help you with whatever matter you are seeking assistance with. That said, I'll get to the root of your question.

As far as how to upgrade your '98, there are many different paths you can go down depending on what it is you want your marker to be able to do. If you want to play "army" and deck it out in mil-sim bolt-ons to get the military look, you're going to need a stock, some form of gas-through/expansion chamber "magazine", a barrel shroud, etc. If you want to improve the performance of your marker rather than looks, you'll need to look at upping your rate of fire by installing either and E-Grip, R/T, or E-Bolt. In conjunction with any of the afore mentioned firepower upgrades, you'll need to procure a hopper that will feed fast enough (at the minimum you'll need a 12v ReVLution hopper), you'll need to either upgrade to HPA/N2 for your air source, or invest in a Palmer's Stabilizer reg or a very good expansion chamber to keep liquid CO2 out of the marker's valve. Eventually you may want to look into a Low Pressure Kit (LPK) to improve consistency and efficiency.

The most important upgrade you can make whichever path you decide to go down is purchasing a better barrel. LAPCO and J&J make the best barrels for the money out there. They're both usually under $45 for a single barrel and are amazingly accurate for the price.

I hope this helps you get an idea of what you want to do with your marker.
