I know Sammy already said it can. But do you even understand the physics of a Wankel Rotary Engine? What limits speed in standard piston driven automobiles is the ability of the engine to run at a higher rpm. Now, overcoming this is possible with a multi-gear transmission with varied ratios, however, you can only fit so many gears into the transmission before you start cutting into your power-to-weight ratio and affecting the size of the vehicle. A perfectly balanced engine would be able to achieve a higher rpm due to the fact that the vibration caused by the engine would be nullified and allow it to run without the chance of breaking anything within the engine (throwing a rod is one example of the balance issue). The Wankel Rotary has no reciprocating parts, it only ever travels in one direction and it's piston is the central axis of the motor, not the other way around like in a normal vehicle. This means that higher RPMs can be achieved with greater ease. Sammy doesn't really have to do anything to his car to up the RPM band. There are some minor balance issues that may start becoming factors around the 14,000rpm range, but the limiter exists on the Renesis rotary engine that is in the RX-8 to keep you from burning up your lubricant and seizing the engine. The only thing that truly limits the speed of a rotary engine vehicle is the transmission. Give it enough length in the ratio, and it'll go faster than just about any current engine out there. |

Easy tallen, the speedo looked like it was made for large double digits. Never said the car itself couldn't reach triple digits.

Christ, I was asking if the speedo would show triples, no if the car could go triple.

Thanks mang. Forgot to compliment you on your car, looks stellar. Please do put up pics of the 08 if you can. It's just a shame every road around me is coated in ice. It'd be fun to drive, but I'm not taking my brand new baby out in these conditions. |

My mazda pick up loves it's oil, not only is it one of the rotary engines you
were just talking about. But it is also old and has 181,000 almost 182,000 on it, even through all of that she runs like a dream still. |

Don't you drive a tC? You can't drift FWD. There is A LOT of debate about that, but its true. You can only drift RWD and AWD. Don't feel bad, I can't drift neither. |

The tC can drift. The e-brake has to be on almost the whole time unless you have enough speed. I have done it a few times. It is fun. I was hitting 30-40 mph and did a hard turn to the left and hit the e-brake. My back end was coming around like it needed to. Once you let the e-brake go, the wheels will begin to gain traction again, then you can go forward. Speed is key for a FWD though. I don't know if I would drift your sentra because it seems kinda tall. I'm sure you would be fine though. Also, I wouldn't be able to drift if it wasn't for wet slick pavement. |

Then it's not a rotary engine
Mazda only made rotary pickups from 1974-1977. It's called the REPU. You probably have a B-series Mazda pick-up. Great vehicle, but not a rotary. |

That is what I have, previous owner referred to it as the rotary, apparently he was wrong. It is a great vehicle, it runs really well the only thing i am worried about it the carb. and the body. |
