Microchop Design for AMD, Nvidia or Intel.

Or Motherboard design for DFI, apprenticing under Oscar Wu.

Or if all else fails, a comfy job in IT as a Systems or Network Administrator.

Intel has been doing much worse before this.  The only difference is Intel has so much money and power it can afford to screw up a bunch and then bounce right back up.

AMD's new Phenom line is going to blow away all the current Core2 cores clock-for-clock, the only questions are how good will Penryn be and how well do they clock?  This month is they're best shot at retaking the market.  The new ATI cards are very promising, so they may get a leg up in the GPU market.

If AMD can't at least hold its own by the beginning of Q1, they'll have a very hard time capturing the enthusiast market till the next rehash of their lines.  On the flip side, AMD is solidly placed for the server market.  They're chips run far cooler and with far less power for quite a bit less, making them very heavy competitors with Intel's.

AMD isn't going anywhere now, they just aren't healthy at the moment.

They get paid about 40,000 a year in my neck of the woods considering the only place that also pays that much is hard labor at a lime quarry teaching seems like a brilliant idea. plus the summer off thing woohoo! as for me a CEO and owner of franchised Paintball fields.

I want to be a jump qualified sniper and then go JTF-2.

Just need to get the ol' PT up to snuff and it'll be a reality in 2-4 years.

Muwahahahahahaha.

If I could do anything, I'd be really happy just working in R&D for a paintball marker manufacturing company. I love this stuff.

As for realistically, I'm basically doing what I set out to do. I'm an executive chef under the age of 30 and am really causing quite a stir in the local food scene. I've already stolen a lot of business from one of the best rated restaurants in the area and am continuing to improve the menu each and every day.

40k is not a lot of money once you have family and obligations.  That's basically twice minimum wage.  And unlike the quarry worker, the teachers had to go to school for a long time.  I don't think that is a fair comparison.  Relative to others of comparable education, teachers are clearly underpaid.

40k is well below the median national income, and probably below the median income in each state.  If you adjust for the 9-month work year, then it is basically median.  By no measure is that a lot of money.

As for me - I would very much enjoy an unstructured existence with a mix of speaking engagements, writing opportunities, and teaching gigs.  All of which would somehow make lots of money.

I was gonna say... teacher's wages are incredibly low considering how much schooling they need/get.  My mom has a masters degree and i think that some of the jobs my friend, who's graduating with a bio-medical engineering degree in may, is applying to pay close to how much she makes.

Granted, it depends where you work too.

my major averages about 50k a year for jobs after graduation.  to me, that seems like a ton of money right now.
