Because that is all it is. An mp3 player. The complete wifi, that is imaginary.Pay no attention to the ability to buy directly off the iTunes store directly to the iPod.

I'm not knocking the touch, but for that kind of money, I'd take the classic ipod, with 160 gb of storage...for my money, storage is more important than the cool interface, or the wireless.

But every PocketPC out there also has Wi-Fi - and they have for years. And they can also do a zillion things that the Touch cannot. And they cost less.

And most are also phones. And have internet-anywhere access as well as Wi-Fi.

/Still thinks iPods are vastly overrated and overhyped and overpriced

QFT

I really only need my mp3 player to play music and to be able to hold alot of it, nothing else. The only things that attract me to the iPod are the little trinkets that you can use with it.

My iPods purpose in its ipod life, carry a good amount of music, never purchase battery's, and be very small. My iPod serves said purpose quite well.

Although smart phones do have Internet, the Internet they have does not
compare to that of the iPhone or iPod touch. Also, like I said before look
on the screen of an iPod or iphone (the icons are small). Why is this?
Well I think there will be new apps like the ones those "cool" smart
phones have. Also with the smart phones you are lucky to get any more
than 4 gigs without tacking on an extra $200 to the price and by that te
you already have an iPhone and a bluetooth headset to go with it.

Honestly I don't think that you can find better software/interface than the
iPods. It is just so easy to use and efficient (imo).

Because being allowed to pay for terrible quality DRM'd files in a proprietary format is such a priveledge.
