Only way I could see it being different is in the way that it would really be more respectful to his wife than if he was just leaving her for another woman, in the sense that it is like "I'm sorry but I realized that I'm just not this way" as opposed to "well I do like women... just not <span style="font-style: italic;">you</span>". I would rather someone I loved be with a person they knew they needed to be with. Or so I'd reckon.
