who in their right mind wants to buy a console for 600.00 almost 700.00 with tax you have to be out of your mind and thats not the worst of it sony refuses to do a price cut.

people who want it will buy. those who dont wont buy it. simple as that. personally, i think in the future it may verywell be worth every penny. if HD-DVD's lose the battle against BLU Ray, which is a possibility, then the PS3 would be a very economical choice. it will play BLue Ray disks, for a lot less than a blue ray player. at least for the time being. blu ray players eventually will go down in price, but then again, so wont the ps3.

They should make a ps3 lite. Basically the same thing with a blu ray drive that can be purchased separately. (unless the ps3 games are blu ray discs which would suck for sony) |

If you want a cheap Blu Ray DVD drive, the PS3 is the way to go. It's a shame that they don't have the 20GB version on the shelves anymore. They probably sold better than the 60GB versions. Both new DVD formats are fairly new and very expensive. Even the movies in either format are expensive. I'll wait a few years before I decide to upgrade to the new format.

Sony refuses to cut the price because the price is not artificially high because it is a new unit. It actually costs that much to manufacture the PS3. |
