Avenged Sevenfold is metal, Bullet for My Valentine is also metal. Trivium is annoying. Atreyu, Underoath, Bleeding through, all screamo/hardcore, defeintly not metal.

If you want energy in a song you cant go wrong with Man O War. They are a bit show-y 80's metal, but the songs themselves are great. Earlier MetallicA and Megadeth, along with Hammerfall will all give you what you want.

Probably not what you are looking for, but...
Demons and Wizards. Fantasy metal. Dead serious. I first listened to some expecting an ironic chuckle to emerge from my throat, and then turn it off, but I really like it. That scares me a little. |

Here is the ultima list.
In alphabetical order some of the bands I reccomend: Amon Amarth: viking death, seen live Anthrax: old skool thrash Arch Enemy: hot lead singer (yes its a she.) Behmoth: Polish death lords. Belphegor: German death metal (in english) Black Label Society: Good clean fun Zakk's an ass but his guitar work is good Burn the Priest: Lamb of god befor a couple member quit/ joined. Cannibal Corpse: Don't get much more death than that Children of Bodom: Rock fueled metal amazing guitars/ keys. Seen live 3 times Chimaira: Metalcore-ish some good songs Coal Chamber:Devil drivers lead singers old band. Cradle of Filth: Good black metal not listening too much lately though. Daath: Industrial Death a bit diffrent from your classic death Damage Plan: Dimebag; Nuff said. Def Lepord: (guilty pleasure) 80's hair metal at its best. Deicide: Strongly anti-religion and one of the best voices in death metal. Destroyer 666: Death metal DevilDriver: VERY distinctive singer good stuff he kinda swings with the music, you just have to listen. Disturbed: A bit lighter and more "radio-rock" Dragon Force: Psycho fast guitars but annoying lead singer. eXodus: One of the fore-fathers of thrash metal, still making albums Fear Factory: Industrial metal. God Forbid: Metal, got some good songs, seen them live pretty crazy guys Hate Eternal: Death metal Hatebreed: One of the few Harcore bands I listen too, their new song Defeatist is awsome pump up music. The Haunted: kinda catchy metal. Helloween: Classic power metal Hell Yeah: Vinnie pauls new band = members of mudvayne nothing face and of course Vinnie paul (Pantera) In Flames: what can I say they are one of my favorite bands, swedish. Into Eternity:Guitars and the range of the singers voice (hes the only one who sings I have to say that or you wouldn't know.) Iron Maiden: The gods. Killswitch Engage: I like his voice but I dont listen to much too metalcore Lamb of God: My personel favorite lead singers amazing guitars are sweet drummer has gotten awards, Grammy nomminie and just well rounded and technical. Malevolent Creation: Death metal. Megadeth: Classic metal. Metallica: anything before 1990 is good. Mnemic: good metal. Morbid Angel: Death metal gods. Motor Head: good UK metal. Necrophagist: Its ok grind/death that the "scene kids" listen too. Nevermore: Drummer from Cannibal Corpse but amazingly clean singer. Nile: Amazing death metal. Norther: Kinda like COB but with a little less drive and talent. Obituary: Death metal but the singers voice gets annoying Pantera: All hail the mighty Dime. One of my favs. Sepultura: Brazilian Death metal, really old inspiration to alot of bands, does a cover of bullet the blue sky by U2. Shadows Fall: not annoying metalcore kinda on the boundry of metal and metalcore. Six Feet Under: Death metal has a whole album of classic rock covers. Slayer: The metal gods, you might not even listen to metal but you know the name slayer. Soil: good aggressive rock Soilwork: awsome metal band from sweden Suffocation: Heavy Death metal strong anti christian lyrics Superjoint Ritual: Metal with a punk twist, the singer from Pantera. Trivium: only screamer I like. Vader: Classic death metal Vital Remains: Listening to alot lately, Death metel. Edited by ANARCHY_SCOUT - 21 May 2007 at 6:40pm |

Mastadon, I seen them live at Unholy Alliance with Slayer, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, and thine eyes bleed. They didn't really do it for me.

Archenemy's singer is hot, but Kittie's guitarist is hotter(and no I'm not talking about Mercedes, I'm talking about the one who doesn't sing)
