hehe

That bad, eh?

I have no such issues. Getting married worked out well for me, as I now have someone to help pay the bills.    And keep me in line, I suppose, as well.

The only 'complaint' I can muster, is that I seem to have gotten the defective model in regards to physical health. But I can deal with that. Thankfully, she is 100% on the mental health bit... which is more important.

My father-in-law warned me I was getting a lemon when it came to her health. I give her a hard time about that, but everything else is great.

Hehe. Yeah, I was forewarned about that as well. But didn't really come to fruition until after we were married... apparently the warranty ended and things just started falling apart.
Doesn't help that the average life-expectancy for her family seems to be the mid-50s.

I've heard this plenty of times from teachers, relatives, and random people that shop where I work.

Do they say that for YOUR benefit? Or everyone else's?

Too many people get married for the wrong reasons. Too many partners and not enough couples. A lot of people care more about getting married than who they're getting married to. It's just what you're supposed to do, like having kids, and they don't put much of anything into it. No communication.

I've been with my girlfriend for 1.5 years, and the thought of being married scares the hell out of me. I avoid the thought if possible.

Yep, babies.

Well, not "-ies" yet. But definitely at least one baby. I'll be sure to let you know if more follow.
