Regardless, I think the world needs to listen to more Bowie.

Also, another not exactly small band- Wilco
Pick up Kicking Television, it rocks, ad is more accessible than their studio stuff.

I'd say his recent work isn't as well known.

His recent albums sound nothing like Ziggy did.

Thus why I mentioned the albums.

I've been listening to Antony & The Johnsons a lot recently.

Antony is this really androgynous singer (technically a man but she identifies
as a woman) with a voice that will absolutely blow you away. You just can't
believe that such a voice is coming out of such a person.

Westbound Train is a band I have been starting to get really into as of late. The lead singer has a great soul-singer style voice, with an amazing vibe.

The band is a great combination of Roots-Reggae and Soul, with a good early Ska beat.
