A republic is the form of government (allegedly). Democracy is the process by which the representatives in that republic are appointed. Therefore the irony is very much there.

Sigh.. It's called representative democracy. Democracy = run by the will of the people. Representative democracy = A group of people to represent the will of the people.

The economy is strong, gas prices are falling, tax cuts,  no terrorist attacks in the continental US in 5 years, and corporate tax income hit an all new high on the 15th, pretty good if you ask me.

He's not won, he's merely not lost.

That being said, and in fairness, I can't imagine anyone having much more luck over there than he has. Iraq was far too stable under its tyrrany. It needed true chaos to appreciate international intervention.

brihard at first I thought you were merely a misguided youth. Now I realize your mom was probably smoking crack prior to having you. Iraq was far from stable, unless you consider uprisings, government sanctioned murder and testing of bio weapons on people stable.

Oh then there was the war with Iran, invasion of Kuwait, then Saudi Arabia....

Tae Kwon Do, there have yet to be 3000 US service deaths, though your post begs the question, what is your news source?

What I find amusing is that if anywhere near the number of people that hate Bush and signed up for MTV's pledge to vote against him had actually turned up at the polls, he would not be in office now.

I shouldn't be quoted on it, but I believe they said one in ten actually voted, figuring that he'd lose without their vote. Something like that. Although I'm not sure how they could tell, barring a brutally honest post-election vote.

If they get their politcal views from MTV, I rather them not vote anyway.
